Tropic Terrors Derby League (TTDL) fue una liga de roller derby con sede en Carolina, Puerto Rico. Fundada en 2011, la liga consta de un solo equipo, que compite contra equipos de otras ligas. La liga fue fundada en enero de 2011 por Nidzy Moringlane de Rivera, quien se había interesado en el deporte mientras estaba en Buffalo, Nueva York, aunque no había jugado previamente. The Tropic Terrors Derby League (TTDL) is a roller derby league based in Carolina, Puerto Rico. Founded in 2011, the league consists of a single team, which competes against teams from other leagues.
The league was founded in January 2011 by Nidzy Moringlane de Rivera, who had become interested in the sport while in Buffalo, NY, although she had not previously played. An initial meeting to establish the level of interest in forming a team attracted 33 women.

Several other leagues developed from the Tropic Terrors. Wicked Island Roller Derby League split from the Tropic Terrors in April, while the West Side Rollers, representing the west coast of the island, left later in the year, in order that it and the Tropic Terrors could each focus solely on a more coherent area.
League members played their first official bout in October 2011 alongside members of Enchanted Island Roller Derby League on an All Star Team created to compete against the Dixie Derby Girls. By early 2012, the league was practicing four times a week.In July 2012, it was accepted as a member of the Women's Flat Track Derby Association Apprentice Program.
Antes de Abril, les puedo decir que para una semana o dos después del 14 de febrero un grupo grande chicas se separo del grupo y se convirtieron en las Bloody Barracudas. Estas chicas tenían mucho en común y les fue muy bien como grupo y al final como liga convirtiéndose en las ganadoras de nuestra única temporada Las Rumtown RollerPunks. Que cool eran las Rumtown! Les puedo decir que AME a mis Tropic Terrors y el amor y respeto que siento por todas ellas no se compara con ninguna otra amistad que haya tenido pero las OG Bloody Barracudas- ustedes saben quienes son me dieron algo que solo se podría describir como "Redemption Sportsmanship" aunque fuimos "natural enemies in the field" afuera era otra cosa! Gracias por todo.
Before April, I can tell you that about a week or two after February 14 a large group of girls separated from the group and became the Bloody Barracudas. These girls had a lot in common and they did very well as a group and in the end as a league becoming the winners of our only season 2013 The Rumtown RollerPunks. How cool were you Rumtown! I can tell you that I LOVE my Tropic Terrors and the love and respect I feel for all of them does not compare to any other friendship I have had but the OG Bloody Barracudas - you know who they are, gave me something that could only be described as Redemption Sportsmanship, although we were natural enemies in the field outside was something else! Thanks for everything.

Y en 2014, el equipo de The Roller Derby Puerto Rico fue a The Roller Derby World Cup. Tenían planes para ir a la Copa 2018, sin embargo, el huracán María sucedió en la isla y ese fue el final de lo poco que teníamos para Roller Derby Puerto Rico.
And in 2014, The Roller Derby Puerto Rico team went to The Roller Derby World Cup. They had plans to go to 2018 Cup, however, Hurricane Maria happened in the island and that was the end of what little we had for Roller Derby Puerto Rico.
Así que ahora estoy de regreso en Puerto Rico. He estado en Aguadilla durante 2 años, casi 3 años, y me encantaría comenzar Roller Derby de nuevo, asiiiiiiii que, con el mismo amor y respeto que comencé en 2010, lo estoy comenzando de nuevo en 2020.
Somos personas diferentes ahora y no pretendo que todxs los patinadorxs regresen, pero han pasado 10 años y algunos de sus hijos podrían ser mayores ahora, sé que mi hijo tiene 14 años y es un atleta que podría arbitrar o NSO . Todavía soy muy joven y me encantaría patinar y sé que muchos de ustedes quieren volver a patinar.
Mi propuesta es esta: si usted es un patinador anterior POR FAVOR VUELVA, sé que podríamos tener diferentes responsabilidades ahora pero ser parte de roller derby es super especial, sin embargo, si nunca patinó y tiene 17 años o más, VEN. ¡COMENCEMOS! Roller Derby no tiene límite de edad, pero debes tener al menos 12 años para ser un NSO y 17 años o más para ser patinador.
Vamos a comenzar esto una vez al mes en el VIEJO SAN JUAN, Parque Luis Muñoz Rivera los domingos por la tarde. Si se encuentra en Puerto Rico (cualquier área, ciudad) en cualquier nivel de patinaje, desde cualquier afiliación o equipo. ¡Ven a patinar con nosotros o simplemente a reunirte para patinar en el futuro! ¡El domingo 1 de marzo de 2020 a las 2PM es el primer encuentro!

So now, I am back in Puerto Rico. I've been in Aguadilla for 2 years almost 3 years and I would love to start Roller Derby Again, sooooo, with the same love and respect that I started it back in 2010 I am starting it again in 2020.
We are different people now and I don't pretend for all the skaters to come back but it's been 10 years and some of your kids might be of age now, I know my son is 14 years old now and athlete that could referee or NSO. I am still mighty young and would love to skate and I know many of you want to come back to skate.
My proposal is this: If you are a previous skater PLEASE COME BACK, I know we might have different responsibilities now being part of roller derby is super special, however, if you never skated and you are 17 years or older, stop by- LET'S GET YOU STARTED!! Roller Derby has no Age limit but you have to be at least 12 years old to be an NSO and 17 years and older to be a skater. We are going to start this once a month in the OLD SAN JUAN AREA, Parque Luis Muñoz Rivera on Sundays afternoons. If you are in Puerto Rico (Any Area, town) any skating level, from any affiliation or team. Come Skate with us or just to meet up to skate in the future! Sunday, March 1st , 2020 at 2PM is the first meet up!
